Yes, there is a very significant difference between these two. Google Ads running under Smart mode, often notated with ‘Smart Campaign’ is a much more junior mode of using Google Ads. Expert mode has considerably more features, settings and management controls than the more junior version of a Smart campaign.
As a result of the more extensive features in Expert mode, you will be able to more effectively manage, target and use a greater range of the inbuilt features in the Google Ads platform. It does take time and learning to use these more advanced features, but if you are serious about wanting to maximise your returns with Google Ads, its the mode you need to use.
